FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
That's fantastic! We welcome everyone with open arms, regardless of your skill level, fitness, or football experience. Simply come along to one of our training sessions and see what we're all about. If you'd prefer to chat with someone before your first session, just fill out our new player enquiry form on the homepage and one of our team will reach out to you.
If it's in a volunteer role, just fill out a contact form on our committee page and we'll be in touch!
Absolutely not! We have players of all experience levels at the Devils, and our coaches are here to support everyone. Whether you're learning to kick or handball for the first time, or you've been playing for years, there's a place for you. We also offer pre-season sessions specifically for new players, separate from the main group, so you can build your skills and confidence in a comfortable environment before joining everyone else.
The season runs from April to August and we generally play on a Saturday. Fixturing is organised by the league so some of the times are out of our hands. But reserves regularly play mid morning, and seniors late morning/early afternoon. There may be the odd occasion we have a night game, or a Friday evening game, but these are very rare and communicated well in advance.
Fees are released by the committee at the start of each pre-season.
These fees help the club to cover the costs to get our players out on the field, such as:
- medical supplies
- player insurances
- council fees and rates
- paying for coaches and trainers
- playing and training equipment
- various club operational costs including EFNL fees
Absolutely. We offer payments plans for all players. Giving you time to save up and pay as you go.
All our committee members understand there are financial pressures and are happy to work out something for you. Your discussions will be confidential.
Players are required to purchase the following items,
- Playing jumper (long or short sleeve available)
- Black Eastern Devils Shorts
- Eastern Devils EFNL Socks
- Team polo shirt
(team polos are included in first year player fees)
If you need to arrange a payment plan for your kit, you will be able to do so by speaking to our club treasurer or player liaison.
- Football boots
- Mouth guard
All items are pre-order only and will need to be collected from training when available. Delivery can take 4-6 weeks so don't leave it until the last minute.
We train on Monday & Wednesday nights during the season and most of pre-season. Arrival from 6pm for a 6.30pm start, until approximately 8pm.
We train on either the main oval or the west oval at Mulgrave Reserve depending on our arrangements with other sporting teams who use the facilities.
